News20.08.2008 Panorama program presents the Russian premier of the film “Kinogamma” by French director Siegfried. "Kinogamma" is a cinematography and geography experiment. Through the lens of his camera the director takes us to the journey full of discoveries. The film is an artistic attempt to create a fiction using the images of reality plus editing. The film including two parts: "Kinogamma. Part 1: East", "Kinogamma. Part 2: Far East" alike the musical work is following the flexuous way with the melody deviations. From the slow motion based on arpeggio, it turns into staccato followed by the light-orange trance. The music plays vital role in the film. The melody makes you feel the intensity and the mystique of East, that is so far and so close. "Part 1: East" was shot in Moscow, Tallinn, Orsk and Novotroitsk; "Part 2: Far East" was shot in Uzbekistan, Afganistan, Inner Mongolia and India. The director of the film - Siegfried - was born in 1973. Photographer, director, musician, composed music to several films including "Shiza" by Gulshad Omarova. Having shot four documentaries, he directed his debut full-length film "Luisa (out-take 2)" on his own sound track. The film was appraised with the Special Jury award at IFF in Brussels, 1999. His second work "Sansa" was warmly welcomed by the audience and film critics all over the world. "Kinogamma" is his third film. It was selected into the "Filmmaker of Present Competition" program in Locarno 2008.
